Feinstein: You’re a big, powerful man. Why didn’t you [gestures pushing motion]?

Crews: Senator, as a black man in America [sigh]…

Feinstein: Say it as it is. I think it’s important.

Crews: …you only have a few shots at success. You only have a few chances to make yourself a viable member of the community. I’m from Flint, Michigan. I have seen many many young black men who were provoked into violence, and they were imprisoned, or they were killed, and they’re not here. My wife for years prepared me. She said, “If you ever get goaded, if you ever get prodded, if you ever have anyone try to push you into any kind of situation, don’t do it. Don’t be violent.” And she trained me. I’ll be honest with you it was the strength of my wife who trained me and told me, “If this situation happens, let’s leave.” And the training worked because I did not go into my first reaction, I grabbed her hand, we left, but the next day I went right to the agency. I have texts, I have phone conversations, and I said, “This is unacceptable!” And I told them how -you know- I almost got violent, but I didn’t. And I said, “What are you going to do about this predator that you have roaming your hallways?” And -you know- I was told, “We are going to do everything in our power. We are going to handle this Terry. You’re right. It is unacceptable.” And then they disappeared. Nothing happened.

Look at the faces of the black men behind him it says it all.

This is real fucking infuriating. This shit isn’t funny. Fuck them and anyone who makes fun of Terry Crews speaking out and taking a stand.

Notice how the people who are publicly attacking Terry for speaking out are black men, and what’s wild about that is that they, as black men, should already have that understanding of that negative stereotype that comes with being a black man?? Yes, Terry Crews is a big black man. And that’s the POINT. He is a big black man. If he pushed off his attacker, if he fought back, who the hell do you think the courts are going to believe? An Innocent Epitome of Perfection White Man™, or a big black man?

People really don’t realize how much he is sacrificing personally and professionally to even speak out not only as a man but as a bigger dark skinned Black man. His perception is seen as this brute physically iwith this absolute strangers when in reality, yes he is a strong man but his strength does not come from his physical prowess. It comes from him standing up for himself and other survivors of sexual assault and harassment. You have other Black men who are sitting at the sidelines who have told him to drop this who have told him that he’s going to ruin his career and he just keeps going forward. he has enough gravitas and enough integrity and enough fortitude as a person to keep moving forward. Everyone who thinks that this man is less than who he is is a coward because this man has shown more strength than thousands of black men who would ridicule him. this one black man is about to change the whole narrative because of his bravery and they can’t even see that past their own bullshit and perceived notion‘s of what masculinity is. Same clowns that downed Collin Kaepernick. Black men want everybody else to stand up for them and when one of their own to stand up for them they can’t even get behind them. Unless it’s for some bullshit or to defend the indefensible. Fucking cowards. God bless Terry for this example of principle and steadfastness even at severe risk of personal and professional injury to himself.
