So I’ve had a bunch of new followers recently who might only be aware of my fanfic endeavors.
BUT
I also write (and am working on publishing) original fiction under the pen name “A.F. Linley”, and I talk about the writing process and, every couple of months, write long rambling blog posts called ‘Oddments’ about bizarre things that take my fancy.
“But Gaslight!” the hypothetical reader of this post wails, “that’s a Patreon link! I don’t have any money!”
Believe me, I get it. Which is why a lot of my stuff is (and will be) free to read.
Not all of it – the fiction is all patron-only (that’s the $1/month tier), but the long rambly non-fiction posts are unlocked so that anyone can read them, and there’s a poll at the end of the Oddments posts where you can vote on what freaky subject I should write about next.
At the bottom there’s a poll of three potential subjects for me to cover for the October post, so they’re all nice and creeeeeeeeepy.

Is this what I should have been working on today? No. Is this what got done today? Apparently.
This was actually the scrapped original draft for the prompts that eventually morphed into Spirits I Have Conjured, but those prompts needed A Very Serious Story, and this thing just wanted to be bizarre and slightly crackfic-y.
